A Student Perspective - Teacher Facilitation Good and Bad

Tania McDonald
Sunraysia Institute TAFE
Moodle administrator teachers and student

Frustration the cons
Lack of support, no-one to speak with during issues
Isolation
Students feel 'alone' !!
Students need a facilitator -- the teacher
Be part of the group participate in the discussion
Lack of personalised feedback
Intermittent communication
No training for the teacher. So the teacher needs to understand the value of what teacher facilitation means.
Lack of consistency
Sometimes there is no internet access

Positives
All the resources are there
The offer of webinars
Access to grades and assessments
Tracking is important so learners now what has been done and what had not
Great for collaborating with its the theory across the learner cohort

Easy to catchup cause the resources are there!
Students do really want to catchup.
